Excerpted from Kirez' web page describing the list:
Objectivism-L is a moderated email discussion forum for the philosophy of Objectivism. I moderate the list to try to ensure a quality discussion, which is very easy because of the extraordinary quality of the listmembers. Rather than try to describe the list here, and potentially misrepresent it, if you're curious or interested you should simply subscribe; it's easy and profitable to lurk. Traffic varies depending upon the current subject(s) of discussion, but remains fairly consistently between 2 and 7 posts a day.To subscribe to the list, send mail to LISTPROC@CORNELL.EDU with nothing in the subject line, and
subscribe OBJECTIVISM-L [firstname] [lastname]in the body of the message.
This list distributes articles and information generated by and collected at the Institute. The length of the articles; some of the articles will be newspaper op-eds (on the order of 700-1000 words); others will be magazine articles. Copying and distributing our articles is permitted---encouraged---as long as the articles are left intact. (Articles will conclude with a couple of lines about CEI. So long as you leave that on, do with the articles what you like.) Don't be shy----tell your friends about the CEI list. All messages to CEI---responses to articles, administrative questions about the list, subscriptions and unsubscriptions---go to the same address:

In May we started the Laissez Faire Book News List for people who have internet e-mail. List members see new book reviews as soon as they are available. About once a week I send out information on a new or newly available title that will be appearing in our forthcoming print catalog.
To join, send e-mail to BookNews@lfb.org
Libernet is intended to be a forum for high-quality, real-world oriented presentation of information of interest to classical liberals, libertarians, objectivists, and anyone else interested in applying the philosophy of liberty to the problems of our day. It is also intended for the rapid dissemination of news items that friends of liberty might be interested in. Libernet is actually split into two parts, libernet, a list for distributing news and information, and libernet-d, a forum for interactive discussion.
Both libernet and libernet-d are available in two subscription modes: batch mode and reflective mode. Reflective mode subscribers receive individual messages as they are posted. Batch mode subscribers receive one message every day consisting of all the posting since the last batch.
